I really do love the new Miata overall. Just a few things I would be happy with if they were changed. The club version is what a true driver is going to buy; however, it would be nice if there were at least the to have a few in it like. I also don't understand why I can't have with the club version yet I still have that HUGE (which is kind of unnecessary for such a small car. I track a '99 Miata and the inside of it is so much more spacious than the 2016. The 2016 is slightly claustrophobic feeling.
Little changes inside would be great like having a flat bottomed. The arm wrest is of no use as it sits down too low.
If it was just a little higher it would add. Currently it's too small to put anything and too low to wrest your arm on. The is sort of joke as well because of how the floor pushes into the spot your legs/feet would go. If you forget to take the cupholder out before a passenger gets in they ALWAYS destroy their knee by it. Don't get me wrong, overall I LOVE this car it's just unfortunate a few of these items weren't addressed before it went on the market.
I currently commute with this vehicle and am thinking of getting something else for commuting and using the Miata only on the weekends. I've never really been in this situation before where one car doesn't do it all. Love the size of the though as opposed to older versions of the Miata and the outside is awesome! The car is great and I love it. I would like a few more, though.
First is that is measured in degrees as opposed to the simple dials in the car now. The other is making the come on and off, depending upon the darkness. I know the will turn off if I walk away from the car, but all my other cars have the auto and it is hard to keep track. Third is the on the. I guess I need to read the manual, but when the car is locked, I find it confusing to figure out how to unlock the from the outside.
Usually I have to walk around the car, open the driver's then press unlock for the passenger's side. Two major complaints about the car: (1) the does not tilt upward to allow easy exit, and (2) there is no in the portion of the car. There was an incident where I had to put my purse in the because I had a passenger. Since, there is a, my was in my purse which was in the. Fortunately, the on the remote was good enough for me to start up my car to return home to get the other to unlock my.
I know now to have my with me but it will most like happen again and when I'm further away from home. Minor complaints, the passenger beverage component should be removable. The lever is really, really fragile. I move my when I exit and I know that one of these days, it will break.
The Advanced Security doesn't work correctly about 50% of the time. Factors like rain, cold, and even my in a wallet in the other hand all affect its. It will beep once and not open. It can take two, sometimes even three tries to get in. The cigarette liter is in the worst of places. I use it to charge my and to run a car vac. It is so difficult to reach, I fear I may mess up my back.
I have to access it from the passenger side, kneeling down on the ground, with my head under the. Also, there is a change in the knee room of the Miata. Between this and the being longer than my previous '02 Miata. It is hard to get my legs out (I'm 5'5') without the all the way. Sometimes this means the swings out and hits another parked car or the wall of my garage. MX-5 is delightful but should come with factory installed back-up, especially due to low and generally poor rear visibility.
Speedometer should either be largest, centered instrument OR a small digital speed should be included on face of tachometer. The should be tilted a few degrees toward driver. GT trim level should include better side bolstering on. Is unsatisfactory and of marginal use; much faster and more intuitive is available on a simple (this is a big disappointment and makes car feel cheap).
I was disappointed that Tan was only available on certain ( ) vehicles- none of which I was drawn to. I wanted to stay away from Black because of high temperatures when car was left in top-down mode in sunlight.
Also the tan was a nice accent. I also would appreciate having an for a tonneau cover and also the ability to purchase a - even if it had to be a donut. The inflator kit will be of little value if a serious cut in the tread or sidewall were to occur. I happen to have AAA and there is also the Mazda roadside assistance, but if I were planning on traveling on rural or sparsely traveled roads, I would load the donut - just in case. I have purchased Miata in Club version with Brembo/BBS package and Bilstein suspension. The car looks fantastic, drives like a charm.
However in this 'sportier' package I would expect the following to be changed: (1) Sway bars. The stock one are just too weak resulting in exaggerated body roll. For it not very sporty, and the asymmetric placement of double tip single pipe looks very unattractive. Car is fun to drive on curvy canyon roads but 155 hp on highway is not enough to easily overtake cars.turbo is a must for with only four. Bottom line: Mazda could easily be doing this stock and charge extra for version with turbo/supercharger.I bet they would sell tons of those Miatas.
